CONCERTS & SHOWS
Orchestra
Fall Concert
Typically held on a late October/early November evening, Orchestra performs musical pieces in the Westview Theater. Admission to the concert is free/open seating.

GOLD Shows
Each December and May, all GOLD groups perform in a themed show which is held in the Westview Theater over three days (Wed-Fri). Students perform both with their instrumental sections and repective band/orchestra or with Colorguard. These shows are a great fundraiser for the group and are reserved seating. Watch for ticket release information!
Composer Festivals
Early in the calendar year, a guest conductor/composer sometimes comes and directs the orchestra and/or bands to perform their compositions. These workshops culminate in an evening concert presented by the musical groups.

Festivals and Award Concerts
The Festival and Awards Concert is an opportunity to hear a sample of what the Orchestra, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble will be playing for the Poway Band and Orchestra Festival. It’s also the time when awards (e.g., Most Improved, John Phillip Sousa) are presented to select GOLD students.
Coffee Concerts
An informal, unique, and eye-opening opportunity held toward the end of the school year. Sit with your student during their band/orchestra period to experience what he/she listens to and watches during a performance.
