Jeri Webb earned her Bachelors of Music from San Diego State University, Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach and a Masters of Science, Fine Arts Application from Southern Oregon State University at the American Band College. Miss Webb was fortunate to study with many well known musicians and composers such as: Gary Goster, Eddie Daniels, Allen Vizzutti, Francis McBeth, Alfred Reed, Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, Johan de Meij and Dallas Brass. After successfully teaching middle school for nineteen years Miss Webb began teaching at Westview High School in Poway Unified School District in 2000. She has served as a Mentor Teacher for Sweetwater and Poway Unified School Districts. Additionally she has served on the boards of CMEA and SCSBOA and is an active adjudicator and clinician. Miss Webb has conducted the SCSBOA Junior High School Honor Band, San Diego City Schools Honor Band numerous times as well as the High Desert Junior High School Honor Band. She served as the conductor of the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra Wind Ensemble for five years. She has been named SCSBOA’s County Educator of the Year, CMEA Band Educator of the Year as well as Black Mountain Middle School’s Teacher of the Year. Her groups have received numerous superior ratings and have performed at State Conferences, Washington, DC. Westview’s Wind Ensemble under her direction will be performing in Carnegie Hall in April this year. Jeri lives in Rancho Penasquitos. Her children Brian (cello) and BriAnna (bassoon and trombone) are attending College and although not music majors are participating in their shool’s band and orchestras. Both children are members of her program at Westview. Her eldest son Keith (trombone) is attending Boston Conservatory. |
